Free CE on Hypertension Management Updates for 2024

Free CE on Hypertension on hypertension management

Introduction

In the United States, hypertension is one of the most common medical conditions, affecting more than 108 million US adults.1 This implies that 1 out of 2 adults in the US have high blood pressure. Again, hypertension is the second most common cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the US, behind diabetes.

In spite of its prevalence, optimal hypertension management is not always achieved, and only 25% of the cases are under proper control.1 In fact, despite the latest guidelines in the management of hypertension, suboptimal therapy remains common in the ambulatory setting.

Pharmacists are often the nation’s most accessible healthcare professionals and often the first healthcare professionals patients seek when obtaining medical care. It is critical that pharmacists have a solid understanding of the management of hypertension.

This course will discuss hypertension epidemiology, diagnosis, and management, including in older and high-risk individuals. It will help community pharmacists deliver optimal hypertension management to patients.

Target Audience

The course is intended for pharmacists practicing in the community pharmacy setting.
